Sculpture Exhibition – The Land of Unwakefulness
February 25 @ 18:00 - March 10 @ 21:00
We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition of sculptures searching the border of consciousness and unconsciousness, which will take place in the gallery NGO DEI 25.2. 2022 from 18:00. To deepen the experience of the sculptures, a dance and music performance is part of the opening.
“ Same as the brain creates dreams, I create with my body the landscape of unwakefulness.“ Agáta Slámová
About the work:
The starting point for the exhibited work is the so-called sleep automation. The artist experiments with the behavior of her own body and mind, which she cannot rationally influence during sleep, so it is a kind of more sincere form of human existence. In her sleep, the artist found absolute automatism, thanks to which the body of the sculpture models, sculptes and creates itself.
The work was also exhibited in the Swiss gallery called Go-Green Art gallery located in Zurich as part of the exhibition Intimate Landscape and then separately under the title of the exhibition Krajina Nebdělosti in the multifunctional space DEPO 2015 in Pilsen.
About the author:
Agáta graduated from the Václav Hollar Secondary School of the Arts in 2018 and is completing her bachelor’s degree at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia with her work “Krajina Nebdělosti”. Her artistic style is still evolving and is gradually gaining more discretion and abstraction. In sculptures and installations, he depicts his ideas in a fresh and massive way, thanks to which there is a very dense energy of something even extraterrestrial. Agatha’s artistic manuscript includes changes in the state of consciousness resulting from her neurological disorder.
