잔치 JAN-CHI

Korean Contemporary Art and Design Festival

Three Korean artists who are based in Prague organize the art festival; ‘JAN-CHI’, which means ‘festival’ in Korean. This festival is to introduce contemporary Korean art that is influenced and inspired by their life abroad here in Prague and to actively delegate their artworks to the audience in Czechia.

Ku Yong Jun‘s paintings are visual representations of his dreams, which are usually guided by the help of spirit animals. His work was published in a Korean newspaper and he held 6 solo exhibitions in the Czech Republic and Korea. The city of Prague also had a huge influence on his work and some of its beautiful sceneries are incorporated in his paintings. He is using a combination of traditional Korean and western techniques, serving as a cultural bridge between Korea and the Czech Republic.
